Remembering Quinton Unruh
In November 2020, Quinton Unruh was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer and tragically passed away two weeks later. In the wake of this sudden loss, Mammoth and The Woolly Farms Foundation reached out to the Unruh family. By the spring of 2021, The Woolly Farms Foundation had established the Quinton Unruh Memorial Grant and awarded its first recipient.
Quinton Unruh was known for his larger-than-life personality, his enormous heart, and his infectious laugh. He encouraged everyone around him to strive for their best, challenging norms and embracing change. Quinton’s daily mantra to his children, “Always wonder and ask questions,” reflected his inquisitive nature and passion for learning.
The Quinton Unruh Memorial Grant is a tribute to his memory, designed to support those who live with the same passion and drive, whether in academic pursuits or other areas of excellence and impact.
“I hope I can use it to make a difference in the community and in other people's lives"

What Defines US
Genes? IQ? Style? Car? Job? Hobbies? Political views?
Our traits, attributes, and quirks hint at, but they never tell the full story of a person’s humanity.
Even so, we remember Quint with the details of who he was embedded deeply on our hearts. They only start to tell the story of Quint.
He was a loud and proud sports dad who never missed his kids' games.
He loved getting washable marker tattoos from his daughter, Arianna.
He used car rides for deep conversations about anything and everything with his son, Osiris.
He told his kids daily, “Always wonder & ask questions.”
He drank his coffee black with honey
And made fun of his wife Jenni for ruining her coffee with creamer
He put condiments on everything, literally everything
His favorite gatherings were spent around a meat smoker
He volunteered often, sitting by the beds of those in hospice
He spent countless summers running youth camps
He stopped to help the homeless
He had a rare blood type and routinely donated blood
He played bass guitar
He worked out regularly
His favorite place was Colorado
And he supported the Denver Broncos, win or lose!
He loved Iron Man and Thor
He thought Captain America was overrated
His favorite place was Colorado
And he supported the Denver Broncos, win or lose!
He was terrified of spiders, but wouldn’t ever kill them
He’d always brake for turtles and help them across the road
He was fascinated with crows and other corvids because of their intelligence
For a brief time, he was a novice beekeeper
He adored animals and always had many pets
He enjoyed the peace of wild and natural places
He loved to camp and swim and hike
He loved to sit on the front porch for long conversations over morning coffee or dinner
He believed in aliens
He carried a quartz in his pocket
He always questioned the status quo
He played bass guitar
Had a wide taste in music
But loved heavy metal most
He snored in a deep sleep
He regularly worked out
He enjoyed riding his Triumph motorcycle
He was a proud lefty but was also ambidextrous on some things
He was a big guy with a big laugh and energy that filled the room
He was a very honest and loyal friend
He was a mentor to many while never claiming the title
He was a husband, a son, a brother, and an uncle
He was a playful, doting, tough and affectionate father
He is loved.
He is missed.
